Why I put a live AI terminal on my homepage

build-in-publicstreamingdesign

Most developer sites are a grid of project cards and an about page. They tell you what someone made. They rarely show you how that person thinks or builds. I wanted the opposite: a homepage that is itself a working piece of my work.

So the terminal on the front page is not a mockup. It posts to a real endpoint I wrote — POST /api/chat — which validates the request, checks a per-IP rate limit before spending a single upstream token, trims the conversation to a budget, and streams the model's response back token by token over server-sent events. The diagram beside it visualizes that lifecycle while the response streams back.

Nothing on the page claims a benchmark, because I have not measured one. That constraint is deliberate: the site should be something I can stand behind line by line. If you want the full contract, it is written up on the docs page.
